Thread: Mental Health

I'm bipolar w/depression. This virus has tested the limitations of my medications. I have a tendency of getting in my own head. Rarely does that end well. Hopefully, expressing my concern will help me get out of my head.
Please ignore the typos.
Before the #coronovarius our mental health care system was useless unless you're rich. Getting help can be mission impossible for those of us who are broke. For many of us, this moment in time is an indescribable Hell.
Countless vets come home with PTSD and other mental health diagnoses. Our current mental healthcare system is failing them, too.
We will have a new group of people in desperate need of help. I don't think we as a country are prepared for. Healthcare workers. Try to imagine what life for them looks like. For most of us, there are choices... look or don't look.
They don't have the luxury of those choices.
Who is going to help them cope with all death & dispear they're surrounded by, everyday? I'm not just talking about doctors & nurses. This is about everyone, from the doctors to the cleaning staff.
Death comes with the job when you're a nurse or doctor. You know this before you pick up your 1st thermometer. The cleaning crew? Not so much. Dietary? Not so much. My point being this is a nightmare for everyone who works in patient care.
As a country we have our 9/11 first responders our ass to kiss. No? I offer you 4 words: Jon Stewart & Rand Paul.
We give our vets our ass to kiss, too. Sure we give them parades & discounts at restaurants. What we don't give them is the mental help they need.
See where this going?
We need our patient care workers now more than ever.
What's going to happen to them, when they need help?
