Some people on my timeline are a bit confused about the Karen debacle. So here’s a brief overview. “Karen” aka “Becky, Molly, Sharon or Susan” is a blanket term given to women, often white, who Weaponise (state) authorities to keep minorities in place over minor issues.

Exhibit a. BBQ Becky who called the cops on black men for BARBECUING in a public park (not illegal) in Oakland and played the threatened victim when the cops arrived

Permit Patty who called the cops on an 11 year old black girl for allegedly selling lemonade without a permit.

In a world where Tamar Rice, Trayvon Martin and unarmed black children in America killed by police for minor infractions, it is important to find terms that stick, terms that call out “Karen’s” fragility & fearless weaponisation of state authorities to keep minorities compliant.

Karen is usually so incensed by the audacity of the minority to defend themselves that police are called to back them up and hence wasting public resources. The term is important in calling out the racialised inequalities but gender critical feminists (colonial genderists)...

Are calling it a “slur” of equal offence to the word “nigger” and Ju1ie B*ndel and H@dley Fr€€dman argue that it is also classist against white women thus completely erasing the racial injustices that the term highlights. So that’s the “debate” in a nutshell.
