Also in my opinion as a Legal Practitioner I condemn the follow up charge, the arraignment and subsequent conviction. The procedure is my considered opinion is defective and in the face of an Appeal the Conviction will not stand. I am however not by this thread dwelling on the
Core legality of the entire scenario, I will leave that for another day.
I watched with close interest the arraignment procedure from the arrival of the Funke Akindele and her husband to Court. The movement into the Court room in Ogba and I was dazed by the number of people
Crowding the court in the name of observing the proceedings. Yes the Magistrate in my opinion did the right thing in restricting access to the court room to only the defendants and their counsel to be in line with the Regulation and Order made by the Governor of Lagos basis upon
Which Funke and her husband are being tried. However to my amazement after the proceedings I saw the chief Law officer of Lagos Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN who happens to be the chief prosecutor breaching the same regulation he charged others for. I outrightly condemn the learned silk
For not conducting himself properly in line with the regulation he sought to protect. I expected that the AG should not have addressed the Press at all and if he had to he should not have in the way and manner he did. As it stands the chief Law officer of Lagos is also in breach
Of the Regulation and must be brought to gave the same charge as Funke and her husband were made to face, after all no one is above the law.
The take aways for me in all of these are:
1 we must as a people gradually gravitate towards punishing anyone and everyone for the offer few they commit in accordance with the law. That is there must be consequences for every action as in this case.
2. Every one must be held to
Equal standards.
3. People must be responsible enough to own up to their actions and take responsibilities just as Funke has done here.

4. We must as a people and government ensure that due process is followed in all proceedings and actions.
I will not end this thread without saluting the courage of Funke Akindele to lead and show example to all in this critical time. She has human is definitely not infallible hiwever She has taught all of us a valuable lesson which is when you fall on the wrong side of the law or
Regulation do the honourable thing by owning up, take responsibility, and be ready for the consequence.
I hope and pray our political leaders will take a lesson from Funke and going forward do the needful.
I still hold Funke Akindele in high regard and I believe she will rise above this and continue to educate and inspire the teaming young Nigerian populace.
