Ok well now that instagram knows I figure I’ll tell twitter: I tested positive for COVID19 and here’s what I have to say about it.
My personal symptoms were:
-fever/chills/body aches
-eyes were strained, uncomfortable, hurt to move and look around
-lost my sense of taste completely and sense of smell 80% which lasted about 5 or 6 days
-fever (highest recorded was 101.7)
-disorientation/dizziness

-slight wheeze when inhaling
-dry cough (although there was occasional phlegm but no much) throughout the day but especially in the morning
-odd aches in my sinuses when breathing through my nose

I searched for a free test provider as a precaution after traveling internationally from a high risk country. That test came back negative. After my symptoms worsened, I went to a new testing site to be sure (10 days after first attempt) and that test came back positive.
ive been quarantined alone to minimize contamination and not spread it to family or friends and have been monitoring and relaying my symptoms to university personnel and county clinics
I now am waiting to re-test as negative twice, 24 hours apart (CDC and County Health Department guidelines) before I am allowed to see others (or go to work, school, or public places) again.
I have asthma and underlying health conditions but have otherwise been healthy lately. Although I was feeling sick, I tried to stay away from hospitals if I wasn’t feeling severe and just go to satellite testing centers instead and keep my immune system up
So- hydrating, taking vitamins, eating healthy and resting. That’s basically what I did to support my body and just let the virus run its course. I got in contact with the authority I needed to- professors, administrators, nurses, to help assist me during it.
Basically, just be proactive and responsible. Take care of your body and be thoughtful of others. And stay home! (But don’t forget to try to at least get some sunlight) okay, thats all.
also- I’d like to add that I didnt “feel like I got hit by a bus.” Ive seen a few people recounting symptoms on twitter that are fairly severe, like they woke up one day and were feeling AWFUL. Mine were slowly accumulated and I definitely doubted anything was wrong at first.
Err on the side of caution :) dont be paranoid but definitely dont be in denial and limit your interactions with others
