I didn’t write this, @heartagree did.

But every single American needs to read it.

Thread 4/
This isn’t funny.

It isn’t cute.

It’s not hyperbole.

It’s not vain partisan comparison.

It’s not coincidence.

These dramatic differences are rooted in real, tangible philosophical differences in the way Democrats and Republicans see the world.

Thread 5/
Democrats believe in the collective; the village; sister taking care of sister; brother taking care of brother.

Republicans believe in survival of the fittest; every person for himself or herself; reliance on others is a sign of weakness.

Thread 6/
Democrats believe government is us — we the people, instituted by us and elected by us to regulate and sustain the collective. We believe government is innately good; that it is necessary for the safe and orderly administration of society.

Thread 7/
Republicans believe government is an entity outside of the collective — an external force, foisted upon us by malicious actors who stand in the way of greed, selfishness, and unbridled ability to make money at any cost to society.

Thread 8/
Democrats believe more government is better; we believe regulations are necessary; we believe it is good to have government looking over the shoulder of society. We know, left to their own devices, corporations will literally shit in your drinking water.

Thread 9/
Republicans believe less government is better. The first thing Republican administrations do is cut regulations, remove corporate accountability, dog whistle to corporations they are free to pollute and cut corners.

Thread 10/
Inexplicably, the debate continues even though real life has shown us time & time again, that the Republican philosophy is empirically & provably an abject failure.
