I’m indulging a little bit of Nostalgia , especially Annapurna nostalgia and specially about the ice creams that were served at Annapurna . When you ordered an icecream at Annapurna , it came in this steel cup , with beads of icy precipitation spread in a uniform manner
Inside the cup was a scoop of gelatinous icecream - not softy icecream , not gelato but milky gelatinous icecream that tasted like cream and ice crystals , served with a maraschino cherry and a triangular piece of wafer
Back when we did not have a refrigerator at home , this icecream was a special treat . Back when we couldn’t afford eating out every week , the taste of this icecream lingered on your taste buds and minds for a really long time
Of course , thanks to upward mobility and globalization, icecream treats became the norm and we moved on softy and gelato ice creams and Glacier Park , Polar Bear and a bunch of niche ice cream places . Once I moved to USA , ice creams became a staple .
As I complete this thread , I have three cartons of ice cream in my freezer to cater to the varied tastes of my family but somehow I crave for that icecream from Annapurna from 2 decades ago and I am not sure if it is available there . #Nostalgia
