Some teachers are understanding about this but some really aren’t. Like do they get that us students are not just sitting here all day doing nothing so there is no point in increasing homework just because we’re stuck at home. School is not the only thing we have in our lives...
Have you ever taken 6 online classes at once? With unreliable wi-if? In the midst of a health pandemic? With increasing anxiety? While holding a job/just losing one? Living in complete fear? And still having to take complete care of yourself and your family? Give us a break.
I get it, life goes on and we still have to earn our grades, blah blah blah. I get it. I do. But that also doesn’t mean adding unnecessary assignments we normally wouldn’t have or accelerating work times/due dates just because we have “more time” at home. Because some of us don’t
Some of us are stressed & overwhelmed because there just isn’t enough time to do it all. Some of us are living in fear for ourselves & our families & are barely keeping it together for everyone let alone ourselves. Some of us have more than just school to worry about right now.
For some of us, our focus is on survival & making sure that our families have all they need before we can worry about ourselves. While school & due dates are important, for some, our mental health is being affected by not just this pandemic but by increasing educational pressures
