Somehow it's less acceptable now because the guy is assumed to normally work and now he's at home 24/7.
Eg. it's assumed that the loser actually works AND doesn't spent -as much time- terrorizing his family.

They should send those guys in prison, they'd experience there what it feels like to be cornered by bigger than you :)
I'd make a special area just for them & make the other guys follow them allll day (no need to even touch them). I'm sure it would be life changing experience.

Most of the violent men are not the big alpha dudes we think of or that are used as stereotype.
They're mainly the guys who never felt "powerful" in their youth, therefore don't understand any of it. Now they're free to experiment this power that they never learnt how to dose

We all learn how to "dose" that when young, in TEAM sports, in conflicts... The people who were obsessed with avoiding competition & conflicts are the ones who experiment it as adults, except they have learned even more vicious ways to use that power. They're obsessed w power.

Usually people hate the word "submission", they don't understand it. It can mean "respect".
A parent who beats his/her child (eg. more than the "socially accepted" discipline) is usually not submitting to reality. He/she expects the child to think as an adult.

Many would understand why some bosses are well known to be horrible & even big stalkers on their own employees, even if it ends up causing them more problems (no gain) than the original problem.

It's a minority of people who suffered phys violence who then become violent themselves.
They may struggle with dominance/status but it doesn't mean they want to hold the whip once adult.
