Constantly harassing people every single day about the same thing isn’t “holding them accountable” considering it’s been years and years since, and they have clearly taken quite a few bullets for their actions that they’ve since apologized for. Let people be better.
Constantly tearing folks down for acting a certain way in the past regardless of how they are now isn’t progressive, it’s regressive. There comes a certain point where enough is enough tbh. Y’all are gross, let people be better.
Forgiveness isn’t what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about letting people grow and become better people. Some of y’all just like to be bullies online and you use your (correct) moral standpoints to lord over others instead of actually encouraging good character tbh
me saying “hey maybe you should encourage people to grow instead of isolating people and becoming so divided that we can’t even have a dialogue without being at each other’s throats” is somehow going to get misconstrued as “who cares if they fucked their dog” lol
It bothers me that I could say “I think this is a step in the right direction” towards someone who just apologized for being a shithead in the past and people will say I’m supporting terrible behavior
Acknowledging someone’s behavioral growth isn’t being complacent or in support of their previous actions, idk where that thought came from but I’d like for it to stop, please
