I started A Breath of Snow & Ashes a few weeks ago. Got to, you know, the awful stuff (what an underrated way to say it?) and had to put it down. Considering we’re now barreling into the second half of the season, I guess it’s time to pick it back up.

Also, how they treat this at the end of S5 is make or break for me for the show. I trust C, her instincts re: Claire are strong, and I need production to show they trust her. This book is lovely and heartbreaking and so raw, and it deserves to be done well.

If she’s not given justice with this storyline, I don’t know if I can make it through S6. I need this done well.

Final thought: I do really like Jamie Payne’s directing (and I think he is taking over the last block) and he did a good job introducing the Browns and seems to work really well with Caitríona’s decisions re: Claire. So, I’m hopeful. But Jesus, what a storyline.
