Here's the thing: I love Election Day. I love selfies w/ I Voted stickers. I love when folks report what number voted they are. I love that my job & chosen career is one where I get to facilitate & administer such a vital part of how our nation functions.
I am dreading tomorrow.
I am dreading tomorrow.
I hate that I had to make phone calls to National Guard members asking them to put their health on the line for something that didn't have to happen. I hate that regular poll workers were forced to potentially choose between service to their community or their wellbeing.
And I really, really hate that voters are being asked to choose btwn what they view as their civic duty or staying healthy.
I knew this job was extremely important & that my actions could have high-stakes consequences.
I didn't think those consequences might be life or death.
