my theories on the “oh my god” mv by (g)i-dle — a thread ✧

so first i’m gonna start off with minnie and soyeon. based on the start of the mv it’s pretty evident that they’re angels of some sort. however they have both fallen into temptation, soyeon falling much easier than minnie is.

minnie is seen slowly transforming throughout the mv, at the beginning with all white clothes and normal skin, but at the end dirtied clothes, black demon like hands, and dammed to a place that can be called purgatory. we can infer that she put up a fight, but was not successful.

meanwhile soyeon, she starts to pray with many others to this false deity who tricks her and damns her to purgatory along with minnie. the two had officially fallen and in a sense lost their wings and whatever made them angelic.

next yuqi. now we can also infer she’s an angel along with MN & SY and sees what’s happening with them and is afraid. so, she goes to miyeon, her “god” for help, but MY is not the deity she seems to be. MY betrays her, and because of this, YQ is damned too. (4th pc)

next, miyeon. from the mv we can all say that she appears to be a “deity” and is overlooking her angels, however, i disagree with this. in the mv, MY pushes YQ out of heaven and also damns her to purgatory with MN & SY. she’s working with soojin and is a demon in disguise.

next, shuhua. if you payed attention, there’s this structure behind SH MY & SJ. it can symbolize power, “godliness” etc. so, i believe that SH was the real deity in this entire mv. however, SJ was able to catch her off guard, similarly with SY, & corrupted her. overthrew her.

last but not least, soojin. the ring leader. she’s a seductress & a tempter. she used her charm to corrupt, and with MY’s help, was able to trick and damn MN SY YQ & SH to purgatory. now, she has reign over both heaven and hell & will continue to tempt unfortunate souls.
