“Oh My God” isn’t the homophobic song people are making it out to be

DISCLAIMER: i am a lesbian.
i understand how it can be interpreted as “liking women is a sin” or implying that it’s dirty when you see a few screenshots of certain parts of the song- but here’s an explanation directly from the MVs description on youtube
most people are screenshotting the beginning of the song, where the artist feels wrong and “tempted” by someone else, but as it says in the ss the beginning stages are denial and confusion
if you look at how the lyrics progress they perfectly line up with the concept explanation and how the artist moves from feeling denial for their feelings to accepting them and even embracing them.
towards the end of the song, soyeon even says “if this is a sin, i’ll pay the price”, no longer caring about what other people think about this relationship
to me, this song is more about internalized homophobia, and learning to accept and embrace your sexuality. whether you think this is a gay thing or not, it’s not right to go around spreading misinformation. you can feel how you want, but i encourage you not to +
jump to conclusions or make false claims based on a few random out of context screenshots from twt because here, context matters a lot
here’s more screenshots if that one wasn’t enough for you
