When I graduated college in ‘11 I had very little direction. I had an average resume, very little experience but a drive to find my place. Through volunteer work and what I’d call luck (thanks @halpinkr) I broke into sports sponsorships with then KP Sports. We were a small firm
focused on FCS level programs/conferences. I found my footing and grew into this role and into the career I find myself in today. After several years of growth and a shifting landscape the “giants” of the industry eventually came calling. When @Learfield acquired our company
there was anxiety and unrest, like any M&A, for small programs such as our’s that on the bottom line weren’t “home runs”. That’s until we met Greg Brown and other leadership. He asked questions about us personally, about our desires in joining @Learfield and shared why we
meant something, no matter the size of our budget. Greg has an uncanny ability to bump into most anyone in a crowded room and still remember their name and school they represent. When you consider the number of schools/sales members of our organization it was always astonishing.
All this to be said, Greg truly is exemplified in what @Learfield is today. It’s a home. It has its ups, it has its downs but it’s ultimately built for the people. Every one, even if they’re just another FCS General Manager. Can’t wait to see @ColeG13 help lead our next step.
