I kind of got offended a little bit when someone said that optimization phase in compiler is *optional*. Wait, what?!!! I was quiet after that and started questioning my own research. This comment made me unhappy, tbh.

I mean how can someone not care about optimizations? Not care about the whole range of program analyses that run these optimizations? Not care about even having them at first place and simply have an interpreter translating src A to tgt B?!!

Is it the common feeling when you are getting closer to graduation after you spent like FOREVER working on these topics?
