Social workers are often left out of convos regarding healthcare workers, and I think it’s time to start acknowledging the role we play each and every day in the lives of our patients and their families. RNs, MDs, PAs, PCAs, NPs, and etc utilize us as a major support when caring
for patients and navigating difficult conversations. You may not *see* us every single day, but trust me, we’re there. I’m not pointing this out b/c I’m bitter or upset, but I want ppl to recognize that social workers are more than what you see on TV.
Also important to note that social workers don’t “take ppl’s kids”. More often that not, CPS workers don’t have a social work degree, nor a license. Oh, and children aren’t removed unless they are in immediate or foreseeable danger.
