Former chief magistrate Nick Papas has told me the decision was not unexpected. “It's a classic application of the High Court dealing with well known principals...it’s all about a final check, in a sense, to make sure that juries don't get things so wrong.”
In relation to all charges the High Court found “there is a significant possibility...that an innocent person has been convicted." #auslaw #pell @theheraldsun
