I’ve been 3D printing face visor headbands for a local initiative a group of us have going to supply local frontline workers with face visors. Thread:
From day 1 the groups gofundme was setup with a £250 target that now currently has £4,125! With the cash that was sitting at 2k the group had purchased 5 extra 3D printers and a lot of filament to go with it
With that going, 127 was made today from just that production alone, bare in mind there are 8 more of us 3D printing at home. This threads going to detail the process of getting these printed and documenting the whole thing.
Current update: 991 orders to fulfill but only need to make another 268 so we are getting there! The picture attached is 310 headbands ready to be assembled
In my efforts I’ve been able to completely automate my printer so it knocks the print off the bed and starts again thanks to @MakeAnything3D for that idea! And was able to produce 27 for the day! Which takes my total to be dropped off to: 55
I’ve also started using @Repetier for my efforts too, amazing tool to watch and control my printer remotely. Haven’t had the chance to try octoprint yet but repetier is extremely reliable, would recommend if anyone reading this is looking for remote management of their 3D printer
For anyone following this thread, I ended up contacting @anycubic3dprint about getting a replacement lever for the filament extruder, replied almost instantly and got me sorted out with one! Can’t stress how good their customer service ishttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="❤️" title="Red heart" aria-label="Emoji: Red heart">
