So it's come to my attn that there indeed is a small group of PAs who are sending lobbying emails and making Twitter accounts advocating for FPA including students who believe they are ready upon graduation. I just here to say I am NOT here for that. 1/4
We need our PA/physician relationship ESPECIALLY as new grads. PA education is not designed to make us independent or even autonomous immediately upon graduating. Training and learning under seasoned PAs and physicians is crucial. 2/4
It is was creates the level of trust PAs have in the medical community. I understand wanting to get rid of archaic laws that allow us to mobilize more easily and transfer SPs without state approval but independence? No thanks. 3/4
I don't believe most of us chose this career for independent practice. So i guess if you are out here pushing for FPA for PAs you can go ahead and unfollow me. Thanks. 4/4
