Hot take here, but I’m not sure a lot of @NDFootball fans deserve @CoachBrianKelly. The guy has done an impressive job making Notre Dame relevant again, despite the academic & religious rigors that resides in a cold-weather state. The Irish have been pretty damn good.....
No, they haven’t won a National Championship under his tenure. Here’s who has: Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU. Six blue chip teams. Five of them are warm weather states, all have lower academic standards & no religious requirements......
That makes recruiting A HELL OF A LOT EASIER. Oh & they have fan bases that don’t sell out 3/4 of their tickets to the opposing team’s fans (see Georgia game 2017) & quit on their teams when they aren’t in National Contention. I’m a huge fan of the Irish, I even write about them
But I’m calling it how I see it. There are a ton of passionate Irish fans out there, no doubt about it, but man there are a lot who quit on the program, coach & team whenever anything goes wrong. Sure I get pissed for a day or two & swear I’ll quit them before coming to my.....
Senses. But dammit I go back with the same passion the next week & in a moment of clarity recognize that the program has actually been pretty damn good this past decade & @CoachBrianKelly deserves credit for that.....
But about the past decade for the @Giants & who deserves the blame for that.......
