Got in bed early, stayed up late talking about 'pubs we have loved' (London edition).
We made lists of pubs in biographical order of our lives in London; the most reliable pubs in London; pubs we had really enjoyed but haven't visited in ages.
Neither of us had managed to visit the Jerusalem Tavern in years despite it being great, because it's throbbing with suits after work. Dave had nearly made it in when it seemed to be open but not swollen punters, but it turned out to be hosting a private event for pirates.
The Pride Of Spitalfields is my favourite after work pub. So reliable. Brewers Gold! Chance of potatoes! Pub cat!
We discussed the different eras of the Pembury Tavern, particularly the period before the woozy green hops murals. Let's not talk about the toilets though.
I wondered if the William IV in Leyton was still a Brodie's, and if it was still amazing. I spent most time there during the Olympics.
I miss the Anchor & Hope in Clapton. Can anyone tell me if it was still alive and well before lockdown?
