Rey has always struggled with the dark side. I can see if you disagree by taking this literal and thinking she dabbles in DS force abilities, but you miss the point.

The dark side in Star Wars is a metaphor for fear & anger. To give in to those is the path to the dark side. 1/

After defeating Kylo on Starkiller Base, Rey struts around seething with anger.

Luke: You went straight to the dark.

Rey: That place was trying to show me something.

Luke: It offered something you needed and you didn’t even try to stop yourself.

Rey: He killed my mother, and my father. I’m going to find Palpatine, and destroy him.

Finn: Rey, that doesn’t sound like you. Rey, I know you.

Rey: People keep telling me they know me. I’m afraid no one does.

Tho this act of anger was immediately followed by regret, it still fed into her insecurities of being drawn to the path of the dark side.

I feel this line is powerful for the aforementioned reasons.

Add this to refusing to give in and become Empress Palpatine, and is say it speaks volumes to Rey’s journey and struggling with giving in to fear, anger, hate, and suffering.

Ps. I feel Rey’s journey of light side with dark thoughts/actions parallel with Ben’s dark side with light thoughts/actions.
