Mental health thread:

It sucks when you confide in select people about your mental health and they lead you to believe that they’re there and understand but disappear the first chance they get or when they make up constant excuses for not being there. 1/6
It takes a lot to speak up about how you feel and to trust people. Especially when you feel like you’re a inconvenience to the world. 2/6
I understand people have responsibilities and lives of their own to lead but no one wants to bother other people with their problems and if they are it must be pretty serious. 3/6
If you are unable to be there for someone make that clear from the beginning or be clear about your circumstances. If you have your own problems then that’s where communication and understanding comes in from both sides. Don’t just leave someone hanging. 4/6
People need to understand no one chooses to be depressed or anxious. No one wants to have to feel like a burden to other people. We don’t see life the same as healthier people. Stop and think before you speak. 5/6
Helping people doesn’t cost anything. It’s one of the reasons we are put on this earth, not many things should trump that. Take the time out to check up on people you know are suffering and show you care. It can make the world of difference to them. 6/6
