The thing that irks me about California is smugness & self-congratulatory behavior. NYC is incredibly dense & runs on public transportation. Note: I'm a Cali transplant from the east coast, who has tired of friends telling me what a good job California is doing when I know about our lack of testing & contact-tracing, our healthcare disparities, vast economic inequality & how epidemics surge when you aren't looking.

Lots of people are upset by my tweet. Sorry to offend! What I mean is that geographic comparisons are interesting but there are A LOT of variables, & it's too soon to claim victory in California. I'm glad that Newsom & Cuomo are taking this seriously, but more must be done.
