You're then left with a surplus of $200.

Use the $200 surplus to:
Pay debt bills. Many are offering pausing right now - contact to find out.
If pausing, use to build 'full' emergency fund of 3-6 months.
If no bills/now have a 'full' emergency fund, use it to start a low risk investment.
