Sooooo let's do a mini thread on Turkey's double standards when it comes to its relationship with Israel :)
It is Turkey who allowed the selling of oil from the KRG *via Turkey* to Israel.
In 2007 Turkey invited Shimon Peres to Parliament applauding him and allowing him to speak.
AKP spokesman: "no doubt that the Israeli people and government are Turkey's friends"
Erdogan visits the founder of Zionism's grave:
I’m sure there’s plenty more examples and this thread could go on and on but the point is 1 outburst in 2008 telling Shimon Peres “one minute” and storming off the stage doesn’t make Turkey anti-Israel. People get caught up on images and appearances too much...
but quite frankly Turkey really isn’t much different than your average middle eastern state in its relationship with Israel. If anything, it’s probably even more close with it due to its better position in international politics compared to maybe some other ME/neighbouring states
