You know what I love about Riku, the fact that he literally says to Quasimodo in DDD that “A good friend sees you for who you are, no matter what face you wear.”
Literally both Kairi and Sora have always seen Riku for who he is. Even when Riku was Ansem Kairi knew it was him.

It just shows that he cares for both Sora and Kairi and they care for him. The screenshots used in this thread were sent to me by my friend Doctor Mysterio and I felt like sharing this since I feel some forget Riku said this.
It’s important to Riku’s character that he slowly learned to accept he does have darkness inside of him but learning control it would help him grow and when he was afraid of what his friends would think seeing him when he was Ansem, the two of them still cared for him.
Because Riku is Riku, no matter what face he has. I just overall love the amount of things you can connect this one quote to that relates to the Destiny Trio. Anyway, that’s my Riku love and appreciation for the day.
