Long-time followers will be overly familiar with this graphic, so apols for tweeting again. But the FIFA Exco who voted for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosts were UTTERLY & TOTALLY corrupt.

FIFA's hierarchy in Blatter era (Blatter himself, his secretary general, his largely corrupt ExCo) were well aware of massive corruption within FIFA around World Cup bidding bribes, ticket touting, dodgy TV contracts etc ... because many were involved in it.
The "cleaned-up" FIFA of the Infantino era has remained shackled to corrupt regimes, including 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosts Russia & Qatar, despite all the evidence of financial corruption, and in Russia's case, state-sponsored doping.
