3rd October 1976 and South Liberties claim their 5th County title and 2nd Daly cup in 4 years after seeing off a tough @killeedygaa team by 3 points. 2-09 to 2-06 in front of 8,000 people.
Jamesie Moynihan and Denis O Sullivan with the vital goals. Walter Shanahan captained.
South Liberties entered the 1976 @MunsterGAA Club championship at 1/4 final stage. A win over a Tom Cheasty led @PortlawGAAClub @WaterfordGAA was followed by a Semi final victory over @BallyduffGAA1 @Kerry_Official A first Munster Club final app against @GlenRovers_ beckoned
South Liberties first ever Munster Senior Club final took place in the now @LITgaelicground Cork champions @GlenRovers_ A late surge of scores for Glen rovers gave them a 2-08 to 2-04 win. Liberties led at 1/2 time 1-03 to 1-01 @ExaminerSport @LimkLeaderSport @JeromeSport

South Liberties were unable to defend their County crown in 1977. Fast forward a year to 1978 and South Liberties won back the Daly cup with a hard fought 2-09 to 2-05 win over @BrureeGAA Tom Ryan and Michael Butler with the goals.

@patrickswellgaa took the honours in 1979. To 1980 next and Liberties returned to the County Final against @killeedygaa A 2-07 to 1-07 victory gave Killedy their first Daly cup having lost 3 finals @KilmallockGAA 73 @SouthLibertiesG 76 @patrickswellgaa 77 @JamesLundon @whelain
1981 and Liberties returned to the County Final. This time against @KilmallockGAA A late fightback from the Balbec forced a replay.
The replay saw South Liberties claim a 7th County championship and a 4th Daly cup in 9 years. A 4-07 to 2-11 win over @KilmallockGAA The replay was part of a double header with the Limerick Senior football final between @ClaughaunGAA and @NaomhCiarain
Joe Grimes collected the Daly cup as captain of South Liberties. It was his 4th medal.
Having won the @LimerickCLG championship. Another shot at the @MunsterGAA senior club. A semi final vs the kingpins of @GaaClare @NOFGAA played in Newmarket. A tough game and a win to send Saor Theas into a 2nd Munster Senior Club final, this time vs the famed @MountSionGAA

A 2nd Munster Senior club final appearance for the green and gold. Unfortunately it meant defeat for a 2nd time in a Munster final. @MountSionGAA winning their first Provincial title and a first for a club from @WaterfordGAA Jim Greene inspiring his team to victory.
