While John heard the conquering lion of Judah, he "saw" the slain lamb (Rev 5:5, 6). Likewise, when John "heard" the twelve tribes of Israel arrayed for war, he looked and "saw" a multitude from every tribe, tongue, and nation arrayed not for war but for praise (Rev 7:4 9).
In both cases, Revelation corrects our expectations. The lamb conquers through the cross. The kingdom expands through worship, not war.

The old covenant& #39;s nationalism has faded, and now the world has become a kingdom of priests to God and the lamb.
Better: the multitude within the world...
