Doing this, you side with the perpetrator in a way and reinforce rape culture that makes society think a rape is "not that bad". It is.

Victims are told they will "ruin a someone& #39;s life" if they press charges, and if they do, they have to go through an invasive procedure, right after the rape, and then re-live the trauma in front of officers, and then jury and public, and be doubted and blamed all the time.
