Dow up 6.25% on news that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has been moved to an intensive care unit.

The Dow is up 7.45% now. Over the past several weeks, equity markets have been disconnected from real world developments that bear on economic activity going forward. They were up on both days historic initial jobless claims numbers came out, aggregating ten million jobs lost.
