XICHENG ;; call me by your name au
a concept , a thread

( feel free to add ! )
a few quick disclaimers !
— I know many people find cmbyn & #39;problematic& #39; and I respect why you think so. this isn& #39;t going to be a & #39;oh so happy w/ romance & #39; this is likely filled with angst.
— yes this DOES mean there will be an age gap and JC (as elio) WILL be 17 (underage)

1/2
— jc will be in elio& #39;s position , lxc in oliver& #39;s
— all warnings applied to cmbyn apply
— I really just like the aesthetics of the movie ok https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😔" title="Pensive face" aria-label="Emoji: Pensive face">

so obviously I guess it would be best to make it vague on the fact on where it is set, and because I don& #39;t have a very good grasp of how modern-day China is, in order to stay away from discrepancies I& #39;ll just take Northern Italy for the purposes of this twt thread.
so as it goes, fengmian would invite xichen over for the summer in order to help with his paperwork / work on a thesis, the sort. both jc and lxc flit around each other awkwardly for the most part. jc being a recluse and rather not too irked about the new man in the house.
but as long as he’s not bothered, it’s not too much of a hassle. he spends most of his time with his older brother, reading, studying, (other hobbies).

lxc is a sunshine boy. talkative, enamors most that are around him easily. even jc’s father takes a liking to him. but it’s
nothing that jc is surprised about. they make small talk during meals, but besides that they hardly talk. sure, jc does find him to be a little...much. there’s a sort of energy that lxc gives off that jc isn’t quite accustomed to, living with his family. but as luck has it jc
accompanies jfm on one of his trips, and lxc is there with them. victims of circumstance, they are left with simply conversation and their interest with the Romantics. lxc, with the paintings, jc with the poetry. the day is in the most simple means...nice. it’s gentle, jc listens
in as jfm and lxc discuss their thoughts on the pieces that they’ve uncovered—statues, and busts that have noses chipped off from time. jc is...drawn in by lxc’s exuberance, the way he handles everything with care, thumbs brushing over the eyes of statues in order to determine
their value, their importance. and for some reason jc is just struck with *awe* at the way lxc sees things that others may consider remains of the past. people don’t usually drip with poetry when they talk, but somehow lxc manages to do so whenever he speaks and jc is infatuated
like I know there’s so many AUS where lxc is the first to fall in love but what if ... it’s jc. jc who is a romantic deep down and he sees someone who’s so incredibly absorbed in an *art* that he is art himself.
imagine jiang cheng just seeing xichen and seeing angels and in the curves and angles of his face all he sees are masterpieces (yes this is grossly poetic what are you going to do) of all the artists he looks up to. just...jiang cheng up in the attic scribbling poetry ...
late into the night. like in cmbyn elio had his guitar that he would strum, but I want Jiang cheng& #39;s hands to be stained with ink from his fountain pen and charcoal on his wrists and a notebook filled with just this new figure that& #39;s entered in his life that he can& #39;t seem to
stop thinking about because there& #39;s just something about lan xichen that jiang cheng finds so *whole*. like lan xichen has all his pieces fixed, set together and pieced all at once and it has jiang cheng *reeling* and in a state of total shock.
i& #39;m not asking you, reader to make their relationship to seem uwu, cut and dry, want it to be seen as pining. as a young boy who sees only stars and angels and has idolized an infatuation so much that it& #39;s become love. a graduate student who notices how a 17 year old grows
a little flushed, a little flustered when they talk. let them have the little conversation at the bookstore where jiang cheng is scratching at the varnish of the doorframe as xichen gets his newspaper and they round about the statue as jc is sucking his cigarette dry and saying
"*because i wanted you to know...because there is no one else can say this to but you*" and the confession startles xichen, it does. because here wanyin is, leaning on a hip cheeks a little red from the heat or the blush- who knew. and there& #39;s something that twinges in his
heart with the rejection because he knows it& #39;s the right thing to do. wanyin is young, and xichen isn& #39;t one to fall headfirst into desire like that. youth is delicate, xichen doesn& #39;t have the right to break wanyin like that. he rejects him, and there& #39;s a cold that runs over jc
like you guys KNOW how this movie goes you KNOW how heartbreaking and good this would be like guys PLEASE someone write this. someone with more artistic ability than I have, at least. (I have none). UGH JSUT HAVE THEM NDHF
"call me by your name and I& #39;ll call you by mine."
"lan huan...lan huan lan huan lan huan."
a chuckle and a thumb brushing over his lips,
"a-cheng."
yes jiang cheng has the peach scene.

just ugh let them be full of sorrow for three months and then tear it from them. but only hurt Jiang Cheng. or don& #39;t. up to the author I guess. anyway, those are all my thoughts but PLEASE if you have anything else...https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👀" title="Eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Eyes">
