It is not the ability to lie, deceive and manipulate which gives you your power

It is the ability to make a man show his hand, throw his cards on the table, leave you the keys to the house, and expose himself to you *because he fully trusts you*, which allow you to blindside him https://twitter.com/sachsjunior/status/1246957528321101824
Many people are scum.

They lie and tell half truths to get what they want

But to anyone with experience, their character oozes something which stinks and shouts “don’t trust me”

The ability to make a Wise man an open book, and let you into the vault, is a marker of nobility
i Never ask people to trust me

But people do. It is one of my hidden talents.

Of course, I am actually trustworthy, in the sense that I rarely if ever abuse a person’s trust in me

But I have identified how it works and honed my ability to gain deep trust rapidly
This is a type of leverage. For your character can carry a weight and people can lean on you fully if they know your integrity is that of steel

Otherwise they will not invest in you or just hedge their bets
Even if your character is in other respects deficient, if you can be trusted, people will **give you the farm** and let you into their closed circle very quickly

It is one thing to be known by someone

It is another for him to think “he is a good guy and will never betray me”
Idiots will think there is some hack to this.

No.

Keep your integrity. Actually.

It is one thing that will make you friends, keep you friends, stop you burning bridges, prevent people from *truly* turning on you if they ever find a reason to dislike you
High trust societies are RICH societies

The richest countries have citizens who by and large are very trustworthy individuals

You could leave a wallet with $2000 with most strangers from Australia, Singapore, Norway, Japan, Germany or Switzerland
And the fact that you can be trusted not to TAKE the farm, means you will be GIVEN the farm

In high trust organizations, income, tasks and responsibility can be given to low people

In low trust organizations, only the inner circle is highly paid, for the lower cannot be trusted
You can see this in tech/finance companies, where most people are actually trustworthy if only for the fact that there is nothing to steal or if there is, it is very hard to take it and get away with it. Many tech and finance workers make high incomes
You can see the opposite in organized crime where even small betrayal can lead to death, jail or losses for those at top

Trust is compartmentalized and thugs are separated from top leadership unless necessary

Or members are made to PROVE their allegiance through trials of fire
