Lets make it clear that the university of Gloucestershire is expecting students still in accommodation to pay full rent for the 3rd term no matter their reasons for being here, even considering the current circumstances. People are expected to pay more than £1,400
They are offering reduced rates for students who have already left, but are not offering the same for students who aren't able to leave. Alongside this they are offering unused accommodation to NHS workers. However, this accommodation is on campuses that students currently
Live on. This means that key workers who are exposed to covid-19 patients shall be using the same washing machines and dryers as students. I do feel it is very commendable that the uni are doing their bit for key workers, but I believe that they haven't taken full consideration
For their students, or properly informed us of the actual plans for this. Yes I agree that if students are still living in accommodation they should pay, however I do not feel it is right for any person in any sort of rented accommodation that is owned by a big company, to pay
The full amount of rent whilst all this is going on. Particularly due to people not being able to work.
I really hope all establishments really take into account their tenants during this time.
