David has lived on his own since the death of his wife in 2014 and, due to the condition of his back, finds it difficult to get out the house too often.

When coronavirus started arriving in the UK, he felt the need to try and stay at home due to his vulnerability.
David lived off Dominos orders, chocolate cookies and coke zero for around a month before the pizza chain stop delivering food.

He was then left with no choice but to walk to his local supermarket to stock up on food.
While being helped across the road by some very generous members of the public, two police officers were driving by.

They stopped and asked him if he was okay, before taking it upon themselves to do his shopping and even drove him back home.
Alerted to that story, a resident has now started shopping regularly for David, while a local charity is providing him with a hot meal every day.

David says that all he has is a television and four walls, but the acts of kindness towards him have restored his faith in humanity.
While most of us are missing the pub, gym or cinema, there are people in our society that are being impacted by coronavirus more than we can imagine.
While the conclusion of David’s story is a happy one, and one that I hope will bring a smile to the face of those reading this thread, it is important to remember how likely it is that there are others in the same position as David that haven’t received such support.
