This crisis is quickly destroying the “people are lazy and we need capitalism to incentivize them” argument. Healthcare workers are putting in hundred-hour weeks all over the country because they want us to be healthy. Cooks are opening makeshift soup kitchens because /1

they want us to be fed. Artists are creating and releasing work at a rapid clip because they want us to be encouraged. Millions of people are making masks, delivering food, and making donations without knowing where their next paycheck will come from. /2

Our incentive has never been money. It has been survival; followed closely by generosity. We all want to serve, contribute, and create. Capitalism is not the engine, it’s a wrench in the works. People are good. /3
