Excellent thread on the development of reasoning. The root concept here is why one of my all time favorite quotes is

"The mystic swim in the same water the psychotic drown in" https://twitter.com/Grimhood/status/1247181156493086728
This is especially relevant when you get into the cutting edge of human development.

I will use Psy research for example, it goes against common understanding of the psychical world, yet there IS evidence to support the existence of human abilities beyond those the "normal"
Day to day abilities.

How ever this is where the "sheep-goat effect" comes into play and makes things even more.... fun or frustrating (depending on your mood)

See, there is tangible power in belief, but that doesn't excuse delusion.
The story of Empedocles is relevant here, essentially homie said
"I've divine, can't shit kill me, bet, I'm gonna jump into that volcano, be right back"

....as you can guess he didn't come back 🤷‍♂️.
....I've got more info for this thread but I'll see to pull some citations together if it's gonna matter, we'll see if I feel like finishing it later on, if not.... ya'll know what I'm saying.
