Does anyone remember the 2010 alien abduction movie Skyline? Hands up if you do!
I want to mention it for 2 things, 1 of them sci comm related.
Caveat: I only saw it once, when it was released, so I'm probably getting everything wrong. Also: mild/medium spoilers coming up. 1/

So, as far as my memory goes, the film starts out with a young female/male couple lying in bed early in the morning. She gets up quickly to throw up in the bathroom, waking him.
So I was in the audience like "ok I assume she's pregnant." Which she is. 2/

Shortly after, the dude talks to his dude-friend, and mentions the pregnancy. The conversation had no purpose beyond that.
And I was like "ok they think their audience didn't get that pregnancy thing so they feel the need to spell it out."
So far not unusual. 3/
