I need to address another dark myth about Autism:
"Autists often die to suicide because they are weak/too sensitive/don& #39;t have thick skin/etc."
Wrong. In. Every. Way.
I could argue that autistic people are actually many times more equipped to handle existential stress...>

...but rather, let me be even more real by saying that most autistic persons live with a deep rooted existential fear of death that comes from a profound understanding of what death means.
(W/o getting into the weeds...)
Autistic persons are unlikely to view death as an escape.

Thereby, the very existence of a significant suicide rate among autistic persons in spite of this rationalization of death is a horribly astounding testiment to the shear amount of needless society stress/lack of care place on the average autist by society.

TL;DR: Society& #39;s needless harms, ignorance, and neglect kills autistic people; not suicide.
