Let& #39;s review the job Coumo has done in NYC.
First the obvious:
New York has by far the worst outbreak in the world and when you plot it looks like uncontrolled spread.

Second:
Lockdown.
The New York lockdown has been loosely enforced and i& #39;ll planned. They haven& #39;t taken steps like staggering business hours to reduce congestion and have been inconsistent in messaging and enforcement.

Third:
Masks. There should be a concerted effort at this point to get masks to everyone in NY. The first part is getting people to produce masks (an effort withing the governor& #39;s powers) the second is to enforce getting everyone to wear them.
In PR? No mask, no service.

Fourth:
Testing. We know that California and Germany are doing sampling testing to great effect. Stanford is implementing a covid-19 questionnaire online.
New York is still pushing mass testing which is going to fail at their current capacities.

Fifth:
Policy. Coumo reversed prison reforms during the pandemic that would alleviate outbreaks.
He also slashed medicaid budgets because he was unwilling to increase taxes. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/30/nyregion/coronavirus-hospitals-medicaid-budget.html">https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/3...

So spare me the "Coumo is doing a good job" takes.
The policy record tells a different story and the numbers tell a vastly different story.
