We have a narrative for the Boy Who Lived. He's the one who grew up to raise an army and defeat an enemy through combat. Actually, we have a lot of narratives for that. However: today, for this story, we have an absence of narratives. 1/
The skills we need to be the Ones Who Lived, to defeat this amorphous enemy, are pantry management and checking in on friends and organizing (virtual) events. The magic wands, spreadsheets and contacts list. The tools of housewives and Hufflepuffs. 2/
Do we even have narratives for that kind of heroism? Do we know, when we find ourselves in that story, that they are the protagonists? Do they? (Do you?) 3/
And yet, here we are, and much as probably every last one of you hates to be dragged out and thanked for anything: thank you. /fin
