I& #39;ve made a conscious decision that I won& #39;t retweet tweets mourning the loss of love ones to COVID-19, with the possible exception of people I know personally (should that happen). However, I pass no judgement on those who choose to do so. 1/x
This isn& #39;t an attempt, on my part, to stick my head in the sand, but it is an attempt to manage my own mental health. I& #39;d like to think that I& #39;m human enough to recognize that there are real people behind the numbers, and I& #39;d like to think the same goes for my followers. 2/x
I don& #39;t need to be hammered with countless examples to know that this tragedy is real, and I see some truly negative personal consequences to enduring that onslaught over the long term. Again, YMMV, and I don& #39;t criticize anyone who chooses a different path.

One last consideration: this kind of tragedy draws damaged attention seekers out of the woodwork. I don& #39;t have the time or energy to verify every account I read, & I don& #39;t want to feed the illness of someone who publishes a bogus account in an effort to harvest attention.
