Is anyone able to (without an argument) explain to me how/why those unemployed are making $1000 a week to stay home and safe ? While “essential workers” are putting themselves at risk daily, without hazard duty pay, and only able to receive “benefits” if diagnosed with Covid 19.

Let’s me add - I’m 38 weeks pregnant and in order to take any preventative measures in protecting myself, my husband and my unborn child , I’d have to take pull from my maternity leave (6 weeks) on disability - claiming 1/10th of what unemployment is paying per week.

So, before you get on social media and post about your lovely unemployment payments while sitting home and doing nothing , please fucking don’t. It’s ignorant and a slap in the face to people RISKING THEIR LIVES EVERYDAY
