Journalists dragging on Dr. Tam if she changes the masks recommendation today (see: @TristinHopper @jengerson @RobynUrback) are despicable. Can say whatever they want w/ no accountability, while public health officials are under immense pressure w/ thousands of lives at stake. 1/

a) evidence on mask use is inconclusive and based on flawed and small studies
b) I wonder if we looked back in their tweets, what bad takes they’d have, for which they’ve no responsibility for, on COVID; whereas if health officials make bad recommendations, many ppl could die. 2/
