Unless I'm missing something (& please tell me if I am), a big fall in numbers - even to close to zero - wld in no way mean the coronavirus crisis is over. It wld merely mean the govt cld contemplate entering the "off" phase of the Sawtooth, before the next upswing.

I wonder how many folk who advocated an early lockdown really understood that the earlier the 1st lockdown occurred, the longer the lockdown Sawtooth would have to last? I suspect many of them wrongly imagined that a lockdown cld somehow end the crisis & save lives by itself.
