So we’re really making a spectacle now of “mug shots” and thinking this is ok?? Does anyone understand how tone deaf that is to those who have survived abuse?? I wasn’t going to post on this but quite frankly I’m pissed that we’re stopping to this. NO it’s not just special
Effects-it’s calling it a mug shot knowing full well this looks like someone who was beat. Abuse survivors don’t just deal with physical scars like these but LONG term emotional ones that last still when the bruises fade. Seeing these is triggering for those who wake up EVERY day
having to deal with PTSD or traumatic memories of the abuse that happened to them. It’s a disgusting trend and I don’t want to hear any excuses defending it.
If you need to escape an abusive environment and happen to be in Texas, I’ve been to @hawctalk and it’s an amazing facility. Go support them and visit their site if you want to learn info about domestic abuse and how to help: http://HAWC.org
