If you were going to make up resurrection appearances, you wouldn’t have had women be the witnesses. In the 1st Century, many Jewish men prayed “Blessed are you, Lord our God, ruler of the universe, who has not created me a Gentile, a slave, or a woman.” (1/2) #Easter

Women held low social standing and their testimony wasn’t valued. The Gospel writers still record women as being the ones to discover the empty tomb. If the stories were fabrications, they would certainly have had men discover the empty tomb. (2/2)
