The NCAA title game would've been tonight. Not to be.

Even though we didn't get the tournament, we still need One Shining Moment. And here it is. All from right inside my apartment.

"Some dance to remember, some dance to forget."
This is everything that went into the production. Only items I owned as of last Saturday were the goal, shoes, Butler shirt, and coaches' outfits. All else I must thank Amazon Prime for. And I'm glad my building had 8 & 12 ft ladders to position my phone to film. #ihateconfetti
Sorry I haven't replied back to you all yet. Things escalated quicker than I envisioned. Answers to some of your questions to come....
I made sure every team included was likely to be in the field. I didn't omit teams on purpose. Since I thought of the idea 9 days ago, I was in a time crunch. Needed 1 or 2 day prime delivery. Many items weren't available due to covid. It was tough to cobble together shirts...
In fact Oregon's shirt was women's XL (insert joke here). I had a Tex Tech cheer outfit but it was so small. I got it on but ripped it trying to get it off. That wasn't a Belmont cheer outfit. It was generic and I printed Belmont logo off at FedEx.
The IU shirt, Flor hat, and Vermont band shirt were also printed logos. There was also a deleted scene w/ close up of cheerleader in black wig winking w/ Ohio St tat on cheek. I wanted to play the wink when the ball was tipped. But it looked so creepy so OSU got cut. Sorry Bucks
When slapping the floor in Mich shirt, I tweaked my achilles to the point where production was delayed. The outtake vid of me falling in pain won't be shared. That was on Wed. I used Thrs for all non-athletic scenes. Thankfully Fri AM I felt good/ready to shoot the final 4 scenes
The confetti scene was the disaster you'd expect. Filmed from 3-7 AM Fri nite. Duct-taped a fan on top of 8 ft ladder & put 12 ft ladder in front of it with confetti sitting on top of ladder on a box. Plugged fan in w/ ext cord and raced into place. I got 15 takes...
I actually used the 3rd take. So the last 12 were a waste of time. Cleaning up the confetti was a nightmare. I'll be finding it until the day I move. When done at 7 am I sat on the confetti-filled floor eating ice cream out of the carton wondering "where did my parents go wrong?"
Oddly that probably wasn't the hardest scene. Timing the stupid drums right at the beginning took forever. Idk why but I was always a split second off. It took close to 25 takes. At one point I CHUCKED the "drumstick" against my brick wall. Guess percussioning isn't in my future.
The receiving of the no-look pass at the end was a challenge. I put a box on a chair and bounced the ball hard off the floor onto back of box. Took a while but finally hit it right so it came to me on a believable angle.
My neighbors must HATE me. The poor ppl below me. A lot of filming took place after midnight Tues-Sat. There were so many times my phone & books holding phone fell off ladder and crashed to floor. So many times I crashed to the floor. Just so many loud thumps and noises.
I voiced the audio in a container store build-a-closet in guest bedroom to dampen echo. 2 ppl sent a note yesterday asking if I got Dave Flemming to voice them. I Guess we sound alike. But no, just me & iPhone. Some of those were also recorded after 12a. Again, my poor neighbors
All the signs were done on big role of butcher paper from amazon. (Just FYI for those looking for homemade signage during the next pandemic). That was probably the best investment on the amazon tab. Felt I needed a lot of signs for context & to make it more real.
One of my fave moments was going to Dick's to curbside pickup the arm sleeve for Obi Toppin. The lady goes "can I ask what you're doing with arm sleeves in a quarantine?"

"Ma'am, you don't want to know."
Few more then I need to get back to Seinfeld...The IU water dump scene I intended to film on my balcony for cleanliness. But when I went out, some of my neighbors were on their balconies enjoying the sun so I wimped out and filmed inside to avoid judgment/eviction.
There is an edited scene where I flip the ball over my head into the hoop and crash to the floor in Zags shirt. Even after the shot went in a zillion takes later, I didn't like how it looked so it got axed. What remains, however, is a softball size bruise on my left thigh #nice
Last night I ripped up the tape, scrubbed the floor w/ Goo-be-gone, hid the props & put all furniture back.

And sanity has been restored...
