I miss baseball. And I really miss watching games this time of year and saying “[insert player name] plays for the [insert team name] now??”

So, here’s a thread of the most random player to play for each MLB team during the 2019 season.
Orioles:

Keon Broxton was once the Brewers starting CF and considered one of the best defensive OFs in baseball.

Last year, he played for three teams and hit .204 in 37 games with Baltimore. But he did hit a 474-foot bomb in his first AB as an Oriole.
Yankees:

Injuries meant NYY had to use a lot of different guys last year, but did you know that one was Kendrys Morales?

They got him in a May trade with the A’s and Morales hit .177 with 1 HR in 19 games in the Bronx before being released.
Red Sox:

The entire Red Sox bullpen was random last year, but I’ll go with a hitter for this one.

Remember Chris Owings from all those years with the DBacks? Well, he played 26 games in Boston in 2019 and hit .156.
Blue Jays:

Every time I saw him pitch last season I would think to myself, ‘Clay Buchholz is still in the majors?’

Yes, he is. And he made 12 starts and posted a 6.56 ERA for Toronto in 2019.
Rays:

Jesus Aguilar was an all-star for the Brewers in 2018 and then he fell of the cliff last season.

But then MIL traded him to the Rays at the deadline and Aguilar actually had an OPS+ of 103 in 37 games with Tampa.
Twins:

Sam Dyson was an elite closer for the Rangers. He was also really good with the Giants last year, but then he got traded to MIN.

And he proceeded to give up 3ER without recording an out in his first appearance with the Twins.
Indians:

Hold on, Hanley Ramirez was on Cleveland’s Opening Day Roster last year??

Apparently he played 16 games with them in 2019 and hit .184 before being released in late April.
White Sox:

Ryan Goins played a good amount of years with Toronto, but today I learned he played in 52 games for the White Sox last year.

He hit .250 and had 6 doubles and wasn’t awful for Chicago in 2019.
Royals:

Weird not to see Billy Hamilton in a Reds uniform.

He’s the fastest baseball player I’ve ever seen, but you gotta get on base to use that speed, and his .275 OBP in 93 games with KC last year was not great.

But he did tag up and score from 2nd!
Tigers:

I will say, it was very weird seeing Pirates legend Josh Harrison play for the Tigers last season.

And it was tough to watch him hit only .175 in 36 games with Detroit. He signed with the Phillies this offseason and hopefully he bounces back.
Astros:

It’s always cool to see an undrafted player make it to the big leagues. After 4 years at Oklahoma, Jack Mayfield was not drafted in 2013 and the Astros signed him as a UDFA.

He finally made it to MLB last year and hit .156 in 26 games.
Athletics:

Marco Estrada had some good years with the Brewers and Blue Jays, but I had completely forgotten that he was with Oakland last year. He even started game two of the year in Japan!

But Estrada only made 5 starts with a 6.85 ERA before getting injured and released.
Angels:

It’s odd to think that in 2015 Matt Harvey was the ace on a team that went to the World Series.

Just four years later, he posted a 7.09 ERA in 12 starts with the Angels. He is still a free agent.
Rangers:

Hunter Pence in a Rangers uniform? Come on, that’s just blasphemy.

Well, he did hit .297 with 18 HR in 83 games and made his first All-Star Game since 2014. He’s headed back to the Giants at age 37, but it looks like he’s still got it.
Braves:

When you think Francisco Cervelli you think Pirates and Yankees, but apparently he played 14 games for the Braves last season??

Signed with Atlanta in August and actually played in games 1 and 4 of the NLDS.
Nationals:

We’re used to the Nats acquiring relievers at the deadline, not getting rid of them.

But they had former Marlin Kyle Barraclough for most of the season (6.66 ERA in 33 games) until waiving him in August. I guess he still gets a ring though.
